CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR VARIOUS ROADWAY PROJECTS - CDOT
Singh & Associates, Inc. (SINGH) is providing professional highway/roadway construction engineering services to the Chicago Department of Transportation as a prime consultant on various projects throughout the City of Chicago. SINGH was chosen as one of the Project Managers to monitor the progress of services, oversee schedule and budget allowances and provide guidance and support to construction engineers to ensure successful implementation of all projects. The scope of work of these projects includes the rehabilitation and reconstruction of arterial and/or residential streets in the City of Chicago. The construction scope includes, but is not limited to roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction, sidewalk removal and replacement, installation of ornamental lighting, sewer lining and/or replacement, installation of duct packages for various utilities, traffic signal modernization and interconnects, streetscape elements and landscaping. Additionally, all Phase III services require the involvement in the pre construction, construction and post construction phases.

Various Task Order Construction Projects District One for IDOT.
SINGH is currently providing construction engineering services on a task order basis throughout district one. SINGH is providing construction engineers and technicians as required by the district. Work includes but is not limited to: intersection and roadway improvements; traffic signal installation; storm water management; bridge improvements; and other major and minor roadway reconstruction and improvement.

Northwest Tollway (I-90) Plaza 9 for ISTHA
SINGH is providing Construction Engineering services to the Tollway Authority as a subconsultant to V3 Companies of IL, Ltd. The project includes Open Road Toll Plaza conversion of the mainline toll plaza on the Northwest Tollway at Plaza 9 (Elgin). SINGH as part of the team on this project is responsible for civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering aspects of the project. Construction cost $25M.

Northwest Tollway (I-90) Plazas 1, 5 & 7 for ISTHA
SINGH is providing Construction Engineering services to the Tollway Authority as a subconsultant to Civiltech Engineering. The project includes Open Road Toll Plaza conversion of three mainline toll plazas on the Northwest Tollway at Plaza 1 (Beloit), Plaza 5 (Belvedere), and Plaza 7 (Marengo), in Winnebago, Boone, and McHenry Counties. SINGH as part of the team on this project is responsible for civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering aspects of the project. Construction cost $110M.

Wacker Drive, Construction
Management

Singh & Associates, Inc. provided
construction engineering services for inspections
of civil, structural and electrical construction
of the East and West sectors of the three sectors,
three contract Wacker Drive East/West reconstruction
project. The engineering services also included
monitoring and documenting types and quantities
of materials and equipment used on the project,
interpretation of specifications and drawings for
contractors, redesign where required for field conditions.
Constant coordination with various construction
operatives, contract consulting engineering organizations,
ComEd, City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority
and various communication companies was required
during demolition and reconstruction. Areas of involvement
consisted of upper and lower Wacker Drive, medians,
sidewalks, planters, traffic, lighting, bridge reconstruction,
bridge traffic control, provisions for future fan
rooms and river walks. Electrical inspections included
lighting, traffic and communication conduits, wiring
and equipment, duct runs, manholes, handholes, grounding,
temporary and permanent power, electrical rooms
and bridge controls. Other areas affected by the
Wacker Drive reconstruction were included in these
services for Wacker Place, South Water Place, Lake
Street, Post Place, Garland Court, Wabash Avenue,
Chicago Transit Authority structures and electrical
systems. SINGH maintained thorough documentation
including photographs from project beginning to
end. The total construction cost for this project
was $200M. |
