Singh & Associates, Inc (SINGH), as a subconsultant to McDonough and Associates is designing decorative roadway lighting for 1.9 miles of West State Street (US BUS 20) in Rockford, IL. The proposed lighting is part of a complete rehabilitation and streetscape beautification of West State Street in this area. The design provides significantly improved lighting for the roadway, intersections, sidewalks, and 10’ multi-use path. Decorative light poles and full-cutoff luminaires were specified to closely match other existing lighting in the City of Rockford and reduce sky-glow. Given this design constraint, the lighting design was still able to meet the required lighting levels and provide the appearance desired by the City.
