Illinois Department of Transportation requires Phase II engineering services for the improvements to I-55 at Arsenal Road Interchange. The scope requires the removal and relocation of the Arsenal Road Interchange 1 mile south with a new geometric configuration. The new configuration consists of a flyover of I-55 for the southbound exit ramp and a loop ramp for the northbound entrance ramp to include improvement of the frontage roads and the extension of Arsenal Road. It is anticipated to have a bridge for the flyover, a new Arsenal Rd. Bridge which will replace an existing bridge and retaining walls. The proposed improvements may provide a new lighting system; bridge lighting; storage and detention pond within the project limits; surveillance items and other incidental work as required to complete the project.
SINGH & Associates, Inc. (SINGH) is providing Phase II engineering services as a sub-consultant. Singh’s scope consists of design of the drainage systems which includes ditches, several box culverts, storm sewers, detention ponds, underdrain systems, and ripraps according to Illinois Department of Transportation standards as well as Will County Highway Department design standards.
