Singh & Associates, Inc. (SINGH) provided HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services for verifying prototype drawings for Fire Station 18.
Fire Station 18 is the oldest fire station among the 113 fire stations in Chicago. It was originally built in 1873. The City in an effort to move past reactive repair and instead build for the future has identified and planned for 10 new fire stations. Among them is Fire Station 18.
The Public Building Commission of Chicago and the City of Chicago have developed a prototype design for the Station, which will be approximately 14,300 square feet on a single floor with a circular driveway.
SINGH was responsible for verifying mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and communications systems detailed on the prototype plans and specifications. SINGH also prepared site specific plans and specifications while coordinating the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The building received a Silver LEED rating. SINGH also provided Construction Administration services.
