Singh & Associates, Inc. (SINGH) provided Phase I and Phase II engineering services including new sewers and traffic signal installation for the reconstruction and widening of this section of the roadway from two lanes to three lanes. Phase I consisted of the preparation of a project development report, drainage study, pavement analysis, and utility study. Phase II consisted of the preparation of construction plans, estimates and specifications for Central Avenue.
Within the project limits, Phase II work included the complete removal of existing pavement which was reconstructed with a new bituminous pavement, a new drainage system, pipe culvert extension, and concrete headwall installation. Also included in the scope of work was combination curb & gutter, reconstruction of all side streets, pavement marking, sodding, actuated traffic signal installation and all other related work to complete the project.
Additionally, the resurfacing of 151st Street from Station 1+367, a point 133 meters west of Central Avenue and extending in an easterly direction to Station 1+633, a point 133 meters east of Central Avenue with omission from Station 1+475 to Station 1+525, which was reconstructed. The resurfacing of 151st Street included milling existing pavement to accommodate overlaying of + 13mm of Level Binder (Machine Method), Superpave, N50 to correct the cross slope to 2%, and then overlay with Bituminous Concrete Binder Course, Superpave IL-19, N70 (40mm) and Concrete Surface Course, Superpave Mixture D, N70, (40mm). Lastly, SINGH’s scope also included the Maintenance of Traffic and Detour plans.
