SINGH, as a subconsultant, is providing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineering design services for the improvements to the Airport Maintenance Complex (AMC) Building located at Chicago’s Midway International Airport.

SINGH’s scope of work includes an assessment of the existing HVAC and emergency power system equipment and verification of code compliance. Based on the results of the assessment, SINGH is providing the following services:

  • Mechanical load calculations
  • Specify energy efficient HVAC systems including: boilers, air handling units, and exhaust and makeup air units that conform with the Sustainable Airport Manual (SAM)
  • Electrical load calculations
  • Specify new standby generator and switchgear to power the entire AMC Building during a power outage
  • Evaluate double-ended switchgear for system redundancy
  • Provide energy efficient MEP design for the new pre-fabricated vehicle storage building to meet Building Code and SAM guidelines
  • Design a new de-icing chemical system to meet current airfield standards and increase efficiency
  • Provide construction phase support services such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, as-built drawings, and construction inspection
