Job Description
SINGH + Associates is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Milwaukee Transportation Team. If you’re looking for the opportunity to work on engaging transportation infrastructure projects and a team-oriented environment, this is the role for you. We’re looking for an engineer with 4 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is preferred. Experience in plan preparation and construction administration is a plus. Prior experience on any State, Federal, or Local agency projects is desired. This position will require a technical background in at least one of the following areas: highway design, traffic engineering, roadway drainage & hydrology, and structural bridge engineering. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and Highway Capacity Manual is highly recommended.
Tasks
- Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design.
- Develop final design plans, including highway geometrics, cross sections, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, drainage, pavement marking and signing plans.
- Assist in specifications, cost estimates, and the preparation of final PS&E packages.
- Assist in design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and client.
- Construction administration of various projects to verify compliance to safety and quality standards.
- Performing other tasks deemed necessary by the project manager from time to time.
- Achieve client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget.
Skills + Qualifications
- BSCE Degree (or higher) from an ABET accredited institution with emphasis in roadway design.
- EIT Certification is a plus
- Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design Software (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is required.
- Excellent technical communication skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness to learn and invest in professional development.
